Press Release

James Cohan is honored to share a special presentation of sculptures by Kathy Butterly, carefully collected over three decades by Elizabeth Harvey Levine. This inspired collection is one that represents true friendship, admiration, and sustained patronage. Elizabeth acquired work from Kathy's very first exhibition in New York in 1994, and has continued to collect prime examples from each significant body of work ever since. From early delicate ornamentation to recent gestural expressions, the collection represents each pivotal moment, new direction, and formal innovation in the artist's career to date.

Accompanied by a catalogue, this presentation coincides with Kathy Butterly's solo booth with James Cohan at the ADAA Art Show, on view at Park Avenue Armory November 1–5, 2023.
