Join us at 52 Walker for a conversation led by curator Dan Byers on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 4PM to celebrate the solo exhibition openings of Mernet Larsen and Diane Simpson.

This event is free and open to the public. No prior registration is required.

Dan Byers is the John R. and Barbara Robinson Family Director of the Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University, where he teaches curatorial studies at the Graduate School of Design and in the Department of Art, Film, and Visual Studies. Previously, he was Mannion Family Senior Curator at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston, Richard Armstrong Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Carnegie Museum of Art, and co-curator of the 2013 Carnegie International. Byers has organized exhibitions with artists including Jonathan Berger, Anna Oppermann, Liz Magor, Renée Green, Diane Simpson, Geoffrey Farmer, Steve McQueen, Cathy Wilkes, and Ragnar Kjartansson, and group exhibitions such as The Artist’s Museum, Reanimation: William E. Jones, Joachim Koester, Nashashibi/Skaer, and Ordinary Madness. He has contributed texts to publications on Ron Nagle, Catherine Murphy, and Michelle Grabner, and he recently served as Chair of the Curatorial Leadership Summit at the 2019 Armory Show. He also contributed to The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage’s publication Pigeons on the Grass, Alas: Contemporary Curators Talk About the Field.
