Go behind the scenes with Jordan Nassar in our latest video feature, as he discusses the immersive installation and newest embroideries in A Mountain Looms, his solo exhibition at James Cohan.
Nassar depicts mountainscapes throughout his works, all within the framework of tatreez, traditional Palestinian embroidery. By rendering landscapes within patterns, he creates layers of perspective that recede or bring forward imagined vistas. This re-envisioning of place is rooted in Nassar’s ongoing dialogue with diasporic longing and escalating global uncertainty through his multidisciplinary exploration of craft.
See the exhibition at our 52 Walker Street gallery and online through May 6, 2023.
